  • Perform research in support of Habitats Optimized for Missions of Exploration (HOME), a NASA Space Technology Research Institute (STRI) 

  • Develop guiding principles for design of highly-autonomous deep space habitats

  • Focus on the cost/benefit analysis of new adaptive technology

  • Coordinate efforts across seven universities

  • Presented to NASA review board at yearly review in July of 2020

Venus Aerocapture for SmallSat Mission Proposal

August 2018-December 2019 
  • Research focus on entry, descent, and landing technology for aerocapture under professor Bobby Braun

  • Verified low-TRL entry, descent, and landing technology for Venus aerocapture mission proposal

  • Collaborated with NASA Ames and NASA JPL engineers

  • Analyzed hypersonic vehicle dynamics using CFD

  • Presented work at International Planetary Probe Workshop in Oxford, UK and AIAA SciTech in Orlando, FL

Jupiter Aerocapture Mission Architecture Design

January 2018-May2018
  • Sole manager; led team and system design effort to PDR presentation

  • Performed Monte Carlo analysis on entry event to inform mission design, TPS, structures, and GNC teams

  • Led GNC team and worked with communications team to develop 3-year science plan for plume observations on the four Galilean moons

Short Takeoff and Landing Aircraft Design

January 2018-May 2018
  • Developed urban transit aircraft concept as part of MIT senior capstone

  • Continued project through CoDR, PDR, and CDR with input from Aurora Flight Sciences (A Boeing Company), Uber, and NASA engineers

Aerospace Computational Design Laboratory

September 2017-May 2018
  • worked with Mark Drela to develop a scaled prototype of the D8 aircraft for flight testing

  • designed and built a traverse system to characterize wind tunnel flow before and after fillet instillation

  • analyzed data to determine effectiveness of edge-effect mitigation

Model Reference Adaptive Control for Quadcopter Rotor Failure

January 2017-December 2017           
  • worked in Matlab/Simulink with Parrot drone to run experiments testing a proposed adaptive feedback controller 

  • published thesis in AIAA student conference 

Human Systems Laboratory

January 2016-May 2016
  • finalized design of “Moonwalker” offloading device, modeled after NASA’s ARGOS system

  • coded multiple interface features for satellites in the lab; worked with Matlab and C languages

  • worked with SolidWorks and hardware catalogue

  • presented final design review to Johnson Space Center engineers and department professors

Space Systems Laboratory

May 2015-January 2016
  • supported Fatigue and Situational Awareness During Satellite Operations project as logistical and data collection assistant

  • coded multiple interface features for satellites in the lab; worked with Matlab and C languages

  • assisted logistical operations and data analysis during multiple human studies

  • completed “Biomedical Research Investigators” training through Committee on the Use of Humans as Experimental Subjects at MIT
